Leave all Imperialist Treaties, Pacts and Deals

The Eureka Party supports Australia’s immediate withdrawal from all treaties, pacts and deals which subjugate Australia to the interests of foreign empires, including AUKUS, ANZUS, Five Eyes, and the Quad. No more will Australian lives be sacrificed at the altar of foreign capital!

Dedollarisation

The Eureka Party supports a shift towards dedollarisation, replacing international trade via the US Dollar as a medium with bilateral currency trade.

Repatriate Australian Gold

The Eureka Party supports the repatriation of all Australian gold held by foreign governments, banks and institutions, and ceasing loans of Australian gold.

Pacific-First and Noninterventionist Foreign Policy

The Eureka Party supports a reorientation of Australian foreign policy towards noninterventionism and a role of being a leader among equals in an Oceania pole to earn the trust of our neighbours in the Pacific.

The Eureka Party supports pursuing a new ANZAC bilateral mutual defence pact with New Zealand, conditional upon NZ’s withdrawal from the US alliance alongside Australia, and a broader regional defence pact with our neighbours in the Pacific Islands Forum, along with a strengthening of bilateral ties with Indonesia.

Closure or Repurposing of all Foreign Bases

The Eureka Party supports closing or repurposing all foreign military and intelligence installations on Australian soil, bringing them under the sole control of the Australian Defence Force or closing them entirely, and the expulsion of all foreign troops and personnel stationed in Australia.

The Eureka Party supports repurposing the Pine Gap signals intelligence base in the Northern Territory to operate under the sole jurisdiction of the Australian Signals Directorate, with increased public and government scrutiny of operations and a ban on the use of the base to spy on Australians.

Pursuance of a Nonaggression Pact with China

At the core of Australia’s present foreign policy alignment with the United States is our participation in a suicidal strategy of “containment” against the People’s Republic of China. This strategy, imposed through the AUKUS deal, unnecessarily makes Australia a target of Chinese foreign policy amid increased geopolitical tensions.

The Eureka Party supports pursuing a formal nonaggression pact with the PRC after Australian withdrawal from the US alliance and containment strategy, to avoid a future conflict which will be suicidal for the Australian people.

Cut All Ties with the State of Israel

The State of Israel, more than any other foreign nation, has lobbied and manipulated Australian foreign and domestic policy against the interests of the Australian people – pressing for "hate-speech" laws targeting peaceful protesters, selling surveillance technology now used to spy on Australians, and bearing major responsibility for the Iran war that has compromised Australian economic security, all in service of an expansionist agenda pursued by successive Israeli governments.

The Eureka Party supports the full severing of all diplomatic and trade ties with the State of Israel, including the closure of the Israeli embassy and expulsion of the Israeli ambassador, and diplomatic support for a single, democratic State of Palestine in which Israelis and Palestinians coexist with equal rights and full citizenship.

Until domestic supply chains can replace critical imports currently procured from Israel, Western European nations will be preferenced as alternative sources.

Review All Sanctions Regimes

Sanctions have long been the tool of choice by the United States and its Western “allies”, including Australia, serving imperialist and ideological ends and often resulting in the effect of collective punishment and mass starvation.

The Eureka Party supports the establishment of an independent moral review of all present sanctions regimes against foreign nations, and the opening of trade and diplomatic ties with currently sanctioned nations against whom sanctions serve only imperialist interests without moral reason.

Greater Sunrise Treaty Renegotiation

The Greater Sunrise liquid natural gas field has been the site of one of the biggest issues of Australian regional imperialism. 80% of the field is in the sovereign waters of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste, with 20% in Australian waters. Despite this, the LNG field has been the subject of much economic coercion on the part of Australia, including an espionage controversy in 2004 when ASIO bugged Timor-Leste’s cabinet during negotiations.

Today, despite a Maritime Boundary Treaty with Timor-Leste which brings the revenue split proportion closer to reflecting the proportion of each country’s claim to the Greater Sunrise field, development remains stalled in ways that disproportionately benefit Australian corporate interests over those of our sovereign neighbour.

Australia has enough liquid natural gas at home to meet our needs without the Greater Sunrise field, and the primary private benefactor of this exploitative arrangement, Woodside Energy, will be nationalised as part of the ‘Nationalise the Mines and Refineries’ policy. It’s time to fix this mess.

The Eureka Party supports a renegotiation of the Greater Sunrise treaty which recognises Timor-Leste’s sovereignty and seeks to make amends for our past errors. Our proposal involves an increase to an 80:20 revenue split in Timor-Leste’s favour for natural gas processed in Darwin, and a 90:10 split for natural gas processed in Timor-Leste, with sovereign credit used to fully fund the construction of LNG processing infrastructure in Timor-Leste to be directly owned and operated by the Timorese government, without the shackles of debt.

Formal Apology to Indonesia and Timor-Leste

Australia provided diplomatic, intelligence, and military support to the Suharto military dictatorship in Indonesia, including tacit approval and material assistance for the 1975 invasion and brutal occupation of East Timor. This support contributed to decades of suffering and human rights abuses in Timor-Leste and helped entrench a pattern of regional sub-imperialism.

The Eureka Party supports a formal national apology from the Australian Government to the people of Indonesia and, in particular, to the people of Timor-Leste for this shameful chapter in our shared history.
