The modern feminist movement has fallen prey to an ideology that despises family and child-rearing as “oppressive” and often antagonises men. This has been nothing but counterproductive for women’s rights and has stripped away the economic substance of traditional feminism in favour of culture war division along sexual lines.

It’s time to return to a sustainable policy that promotes the true economic equality and prosperity of both men and women while praising child-rearing as a social responsibility that falls on parents and communities.

The Eureka Party supports the establishment of fully free, state-funded childcare nationwide, with checks given directly to families.

Increased Child Payments

The Eureka Party supports considerably increasing child payments to parents and caregivers for each child born.

Longer Mandatory Parental Leave

The Eureka Party supports the introduction of longer mandatory parental leave for both mothers and fathers to spend more time with their children and partners after the birth of a new child. This applies to parents regardless of legal marriage status, conditional only upon upon established cohabitation as a primary household unit regardless of legal status, with provisions for temporary separation due to employment or safety concerns verified by relevant authorities.

Construction of Larger Family Homes

The Eureka Party supports the construction of larger family homes suitable for larger families in regional, rural and remote parts of Australia to promote relocation for large families seeking a less urbanised lifestyle, including larger earthen constructed homes in permaculture settlements.

Abortion and Contraception Policy

The Eureka Party does not support legislating any substantial restrictions on the availability of abortions or contraception. We believe it is better to solve the root causes of low birth rates – anti-natal culture and economic austerity – than to burden bodily autonomy and public health with restrictions on abortion and contraception.
