Defence Policy

‘Fortress Australis’ Doctrine

The Eureka Party supports orienting Australian defence policy towards a new doctrine of ‘Fortress Australis’, emphasising continental area denial, supply chain reshoring and self-reliance for military technology, noninterventionism in foreign affairs, and sovereign, collective self-defence arrangements in the South Pacific, replacing the status quo of sub-imperial forward defence and dependency on the US alliance.

Socialise the Military Industry

Private military companies and contractors have an inherent profit incentive to lobby for adventurist and expeditionary wars, creating an impetus for imperialism.

The Eureka Party supports the full socialisation of Australia’s domestic military industry at a baseline of 110% of market cap, and the expulsion of foreign subsidiaries operating in Australia, to put control of the supply chains for military manufacturing in public hands.

‘Eureka Shield’ Terrestrial Defence System

The Eureka Party supports the construction of the ‘Eureka Shield’, a proposed continental terrestrial defence system covering all of Australian territory and the entire South Pacific, utilising a combination of interceptor missiles and solid state laser interceptors to create a defensive shield capable of intercepting any air attack against Australia or its neighbours.

Naval Expansion

The Eureka Party supports the expansion of Australia’s green-water and brown-water naval capabilities to contribute to national defence against incursion into Australian maritime waters, including the development of AI-powered submarines.

AI Drone Swarms

The Eureka Party supports establishing domestic supply chains for the mass manufacture of AI drones for swarm defence.
